Our Family Nature Club events are a chance to connect with other families in our region who enjoy getting out in/and connecting with Nature.

February

Summer Hike & Lunch – Sunday 12th February, 11am  (Free Event)

Meet us for a walk and lunch at Triplet Falls, Lavers Hill. This is a stunning and easy walk set amongst beautiful old Mountain Ash and Myrtle Beech trees. You can find details of the walk here  – http://parkweb.vic.gov.au/explore/parks/great-otway-national-park/things-to-do/triplet-falls

Please BYO Picnic rug, drink bottles and lunch, weather appropriate clothing and footwear.

March

Frogs! – Saturday 18th March, 10:30am  ($24 per family – bookings here)

Join us for a fun day learning about frogs and water bugs with Christina Renowden from ‘Leap into Nature’.

Christina will give us a chance to view live frogs as we find out about their habitat requirements and the role they play in the ecosystem.
Christina will lead us in a range of hands on activities & games to learn about frog life cycles, external features of frogs and adaptations.

There will also be the chance for free play, chatting and eating a snack/lunch.

April

Autumn Picnic 2017! ($24 per family – bookings here)

This is our big event for the year and we are so excited to be celebrating Nature Play week in this way.

Annie from Annie’s Tales & Songs will be joining us with her storytent. Her folk songs and tales are inspired by Nature and will provide a lovely focus for children and families prior to the picnic lunch.

Date: Saturday 22nd April, 2017
Time: 10:00am – 12:30pm + onwards
Annie’s Storytent will start at 10:30am
Venue: Frank Mann Reserve, 5 Heal Street, Ceres.
Food: BYO Snacks, Water & Picnic Lunch + Picnic blanket.

This is an all weather outdoor event.

Please bring weather appropriate clothing & footwear for both your children & yourself!

Den Building – Saturday 13th May 2017, 10:30am  ($15 per family – bookings here)

Venue Victoria Park, 19 Park Street, Inverleigh.cubby

Den building is an important part of children’s imaginative and creative play. It reinforces their sense of self and can provide privacy and a dedicated play space.

We will provide a collection of loose parts (branches, blankets & hessian) sign making & bunting making equipment, and a venue for children to make cubbies, hiding holes and play spaces.

There will also be the opportunity for children to make face paint from natural materials as they get a bit wild!

June

Early Winter Walk – Sunday 4th June 2017, 11:30am  (Free Event – bookings by emailing thefoxguild@gmail.com – subject Early Winter Walk)

Meet us for a walk and lunch along the Leigh River, Inverleigh.

We’ll meet at 11:30am at the back of the Inverleigh Primary School (Crn Newman & Cambridge St) and walk Bakers Track down past the tree and continue to the end of the track where we’ll find a good spot for a picnic. 

Please BYO Picnic rug, drink bottles and lunch, weather appropriate clothing and footwear.
